It is now extremely cold and my heart goes out to Adam and Carolien in New Zealand who will be cutting short thier lazy summer to return to ice and snow in January. Bernie has a handbag with hide-away straps that convert it into a full-size mountaineers back-pack. Worth a photo just to see how daft it looks.
By the way, the garden webcam is working again and is now set up to look at birds feeding. It is particularly interesting because the feeder house is low enough to enable any of the five cats to also grab a quick meal. I thought about drugging the bird seed after listenenig to Tom Lehrer's "Poisoning pidgeons in the Park"
when they see us coming the birdies all try 'n hide, but they still go for peanuts when coated with cyanide... Tom Lehrer
